| Playedoh was launched in 2009 by Sean Scott & Craig Hobbs who were both on a mission to create a credible house music night in Bedfordshire where they’d both grown up. Sean who had recently returned from stints in Birmingham & Leeds was frustrated that you had to travel to London to find a decent house music party. The launch party took place in Luton in June and was a huge success. They returned to Luton for a further two parties in 2009 as well as a daytime party in London amongst others. In 2010 Playedoh launched at Ministry of Sound in London where it hosted one of it’s most successful parties to date including it’s 1st birthday party. There were also other events in Milton Keynes and Liverpool with artists including Robert Dietz, Cesar Merveille and Jamie Anderson. Fast-forward to 2011 and Sean & Craig had a re-think about how they saw the brand going forward and decided to concentrate on their hometown of Dunstable which resulted in two record-breaking events at Bar Chameleon. The Playedoh Podcast also launched in the summer and has gained instant recognition from many of the scene’s major players and guests thus far have included Richy Ahmed, Subb-An and Jamie Anderson. Enter 2012 and the launch of the long awaited Playedoh Records. The label will launch in May as an imprint for Playedoh artists to release their own material, much of which has gained huge interest after spins at their events. The label also welcomes submissions from up and coming producers. Additionally Playedoh Radio will launch along with a string of even bigger and better parties. 2012 looks set to be Playedoh’s busiest year to date! |
